Jesse was a Vietnam Veteran, Emergency First Responder, Red Cross First Aid Instructor,
Volunteer Firefighter, Big Brother, and Little League Coach
(and one heck of a Fisherman!!)

Personal Note from Union Minutes of Alger County Road Commission:

"On June 13, 1993, beloved union brother Jesse Cornish died from injuries sustained the day before in an auto accident.  Jesse was as fine a co-worker as any union man could hope for.  His hardworking, positive attitude and willingness to "give a hand" made us all raise our sights a bit higher.  His hearty laughter, big toothy smile and love of life brightened many a drab, stormy day.  He will be sorely missed by all"

ON MAY 11, 1998 A NEW LITTLE LEAGUE FIELD IN MUNISING TOWNSHIP
WAS DEDICATED AS THE:
JESSE W. CORNISH MEMORIAL FIELD
in his honor
a fitting tribute for a man whose greatest pleasure in life was watching children laugh & play!

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid, you see
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
to laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the close of the day

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too, will miss

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and peace to thee
God wanted me now.....He set me free!

"OUR LIVES ARE BETTER LEFT TO CHANCE --
I COULD HAVE  MISSED THE PAIN...
BUT I WOULD HAVE MISSED THE DANCE!"
(GARTH BROOKS - "THE DANCE)

REST IN PEACE COUGAR!!
